T.C. Boyle is this year’s The Best American Short Stories . Boyle is definitely one of the best choice, as he is the writer of ten selections of short stories, and of fifteen novels. Picking stories from both American and Canadian publications, The Best American Short Stories is composed of 20 carefully selected works of fiction. As Boyle remarks in his introduction, many of the stories he selected have a strong narrative, even if the story is actually not that impressive.
In general, the 2015 release proceeds with the series’ strong popularity, showcasing some good, and at times brilliant, literature, even though not every piece is worthy to be regarded as “the best.” If you appreciate Boyle, you won’t be amazed that the entire tone of this one-hundredth edition of Best American is full of dark, and quite often, long family short stories.
